As past President of the Australian National Council of Orff Schulwerk (ANCOS) and the Tasmanian Orff Schulwerk Association (TOSA), Gerard has presented at National Conferences and Orff Accreditation Courses within Australia.He has also presented at the Orff School in Traunwalchen, Bavaria, Orff Schulwerk Level Accreditation Courses in Australia and Taiwan, and workshops in South Africa and New Zealand. Formerly a Lecturer at the University of Tasmania in their Masters Programme, Gerard’s research and field work have focused on students’ involvement with Marimbas. He has coordinated the annual Marimba Mania festival for the past 18 years. He currently conducts two secondary Marimba Ensembles, as well as an Adult group. Gerard always aims to present all participants with a successful repertoire of engaging musical experiences, suitable for a broad range of musical capabilities.
